“Being one of the first new buildings in the Clybourn Corridor next to the changing Cabrini Green, it has set a standard for urban renewal and socially conscious design.”

Like a Good Neighbor, Clybourn point is there! The philosophy behind the building, the attention to detail – both the exterior architecture and the interior living space – the commitment to environmental preservation and the use of sustainable materials embody the Old Town ideals of good living. Everything about Clybourn Point is both user and environmental friendly from multiple exterior exposures which provide natural light and cross ventilation to the low VOC content to improve air quality. We applaud the use of materials with renewable sources and building products with recycled content. Like the craftsmen and workmen from another time in the Triangle, the Clybourn point designers and architect have constructed for the ages.

RADA’s project has made our commute on the Clybourn corridor more meaningful; The building’s design is welcoming and cheerful and its glow of kinetic light on the corner has turned it into a beacon of hope in the area. . . . Clybourn Point is a unique development as it goes above and beyond what a small multi-unit building usually provides. It is a building with pioneering and exceptional for its size scope of green features – green roof, solar panels, LED lighting, recyclable materials and many more. It is a building that exceeds in design ambition the usual six-unit flat and is thus creating a memorable image on a prominent Clybourn corner. And last but not least – it is a unique challenge to be able to fulfill both of these ambitions on the budget of private funds where the cost is spread between a small number of units and sales prices in an up and coming area do not generate sufficient returns.”

Clybourn point epitomizes urban revitalization through a contemporary design aesthetic that is both visually pleasing and environmentally responsible. Clybourn Point is on the forefront of small-scale sustainable developments; with the implementation of photovoltaic panels and a habitable green roof, the development sets the standards for future developments. . .Through distinctive and design, Clybourn stands as a beacon for future possibilities of the neighborhood.

“. . . What was a dilapidated and often dangerous street is now emerging as a changing community with Helmuth Jahn’s SRO at one and RADA’s well resolved solution to a difficult site at the other. Your commitment to eco-friendly, sustainable architecture with an emphasis on energy conservation is not only apropos for our times but catalyst to motivate designers and developers alike. We congratulate you for your effort.”

“Clybourn Point epitomizes the very nature of real estate development and the benefits derived from project conceived in the designer’s imagination, financed at the developer’s risk, marketed to those buyers with the foresight to see the neighborhood not as it may exist today, but what it will become in the very near future. The marriage of those homeowners who value sustainable design to the developer, who bears the risk of providing those features, provides the basis for social responsible and financially viable development.”

"Green is Looking Good for Near North Condos"
“…Clybourn Point, part of the astonishing surge of residential development in and around Cabrini-Green… includes photovoltaic panels that will turn sunlight into electricity… We’re not aware of another condo development of this size now on the market using solar energy in this way. RADA Development and RADA Architects also are using recycled materials and are recycling construction waste. They’re using bamboo floors and low-VOC paints, and a variety of measures to save energy, from LED kinetic lighting to an “eco-elevator” that according to the developer, uses 60 percent less energy than a conventional hydraulic elevator.
Now that the building is up…, the architecture is clearly another perk. The point in Clybourn Point, at the corner of Larrabee Street and diagonal Clybourn, is dramatic, creating a great profile if you’re coming from the north or northwest. Using the point of the triangle for terrace space makes what could have been a bleak western wall lively, as does the tri-colored geometrical patterns in the masonry on Larrabee.
…RADA deserves credit for considering the future of the neighborhood and doing right by the streetscape when it might have taken a more insular approach.”

“. . .Looking beyond the physical construction and the ecological benefits of this project and others like it, this project is important because it responds to its surroundings by being the first attempt in the neighborhood to define pedestrian-oriented urban space.  It succeeds in doing this by means of physical construction, but perhaps more importantly by creating a colorful backdrop for the public stage, the street.
The LED light fixture on the building's edge balances on the edge like a performer walking a tight rope.  Completely aesthetic, it is a perfect accent to the unit.  It provides architectural distinction, but also serves as a neighborhood landmark.  Just think ... "head north and take a right when you see the big colorful light on the corner."  These small details are what makes a big difference in cities, and what people recognize and appreciate.  Architecture needs to function on many levels to be successful in a city, and I think it is safe to say that Clybourn Point receives a standing ovation from this critic."

“. . . Clybourn Point Condos Shine Brightly in Chicago’s from Rada Architecture. Clybourn Point Condos Shine Brightly from Rada Architecture Located in Chicago’s growing River North district, this mixed use development offers engaging and sustainable Architecture Design. RADA’s Clybourn Point is LEED® Silver certified! The building is the first and only LEED® certified midrise multi-unit residential development in Chicago. The concept of mixed use is not new by any means, but is making a strong comeback with the demand for sustainable urban design. The bold angle of the facade utilizes the allotted space with appropriate proportions, and finally, perhaps my favorite part of the whole project, is the kinetic LED light fixture on the building’s edge."
